ABOUT GEOMEDI

The University GEOMEDI was founded in 1998. The head of the University since its establishment is Dr Marina Pirtskhalava. The University is Accredited by the Georgian National Education Accreditation Centre.

The University provides its students with high quality education based on the theoretical knowledge and practical skills necessary for their success in their future career. Lots of the former graduates have succeeded in their medical careers working at the best clinics in Georgia and Abroad. Successful graduate students will be provided an employment at the University Clinic and its departments.

The educational programs and student assessment are based on the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS) and meet the European Standard. There are Undergraduate and Postgraduate academic programs, language certificate courses (Georgian, English and German). The University promotes the practice and training at the national and international level. The University supports its students to participate in exchange programs at the partner Universities of the USA, Israel and Germany. One of the main goals of the University is to understand the needs of each student and supports them during their learning process leading to a successful professional career.

Program Title: Medical Doctor’s (MD)

Degree Earned: The Degree of MEDICAL DOCTOR

Length of the Program: 6 Yrs. (360 ECTS Credits)

Mission of the Faculty of Medicine is to engage students in the learning process that will help them become highly competent and compassionate physicians who promote health and have a lifelong thirst for learning. They are assigned to clinics where they observe doctors’ work, interact with patients and develop skills for communication and physical examination.

OBJECTIVES of the PROGRAM

Correspond to the medical education both national and international health-care system requirements and capabilities;

Maintain contemporary medical education that corresponds with scientific knowledge and technological advancement;

Provide the graduates with basic, clinical, behavioural and social science education necessary for medical practical activities;

INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS

Students of the GEOMEDI University can participate in exchange programs that provide them the opportunity to study at the leading Universities and Clinics abroad, communicate with the Professionals, Gain Experience that will be very helpful in their Professional Career. Upon the completion of the exchange program the students will receive the certificates.
